Year 11 Aspirations Information

As you will be aware, your child is entering the final year of their compulsory time here at Huntington School. In addition to ensuring that they achieve the best exam results possible by the end of Year 11 (2025), they also have some big decisions to make regarding the next stage in their education (Post 16).

Your child will be given a huge amount of support to help them make these decisions, and we would like to ensure you are aware of this provision. Below you will find a copy of the letter which was recently sent home (via class charts) to parents/careers outlining the minimum careers provision at Huntington School.

Below the letter, key presentations and updates will be added throughout the year to ensure that you are fully informed about the Careers Education Information and Guidance (CEIAG) that has been given to your child through the end of Year 10 and Year 11.

Deciding what you want to do after year 11 can be both an exciting and stressful time. There is, however, plenty of support available to help you make decisions. You may find it helpful to share the information in this booklet with your parent or carer.

York has a wide range of high-quality choices available for all young people, at all levels. Whatever you are doing now, there is a pathway for you to follow in 2023-24.

This booklet gives initial information and tells you where to find out more. It has been designed with all students in mind, with the sections listed in blue containing additional information for students with an existing Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
