Using evidence to develop metacognitive and self-regulated learners (East Riding)

Metacognition and self-regulated learning is one of the most accessed strands of the EEF teaching and Learning Toolkit and on average has an impact of 7 months additional progress. But the majority of practitioners are not yet clear exactly how this can be effectively applied in their classroom to improve student outcomes.

To capitalise on the potential of developing these independent learning skills, teachers and leaders need to understand what they are and how to develop them across the age ranges, starting at early years.

Based upon the EEF guidance report and cutting edge evidence, this course will enable you to make confident decisions that will help your pupils to become aware of their strengths and limitations and to select the appropriate strategies when undertaking a task.

This 3 day course is suitable whether you are a classroom teacher, middle leader or leading a whole school or MAT. The course dates are:
