This is a nationally run scheme which requires you to set up and run your own business for one year from raising funds from the sale ofshares to designing, making and hopefully selling your product. As in most businesses, the name of the game is profit. Remember, at the end your shareholders will want their investment back, plus dividend.
If you have a mind for business, are reliable, a good dream player or just fancy giving it a go then this is a hard yet potentially rewarding PDP option.
Who knows, you might be voted in as managing director or be in charge of the money as financial director. You must, however, commit to it for the full year.
The young enterprise scheme will provide you with a business adviser, director's material and a certificate of achievement. Towards the end of the year you will give a presentation and compete at local and possibly national level for awards and prizes. There is also an optional exam which could gain you further GCSE's.
